So, I am back online and able to post etc… (I had collected a few pictures and had yet to post or write… )
It’s interesting how life on board has both been full and uneventful. It’s full in that there is a steady stream of distractions… lectures, cocktail parties and games etc. And Empty in that we have not seen land, or another ship or anything at all except lots and lots of ocean.
But the sea has been interesting, and the various cocktail parties have been fun. (Though I generally hate those sort of things, the people are frequently fascinating and fun to talk to.) Below are pictures of me at one the formal evenings, my host and hostess looking happy and well, the sky in the morning and evening, the color of the water as the ship cuts through and a visit paid to me by my hosts in my new evening haunt the “humidor.” In fact, I had been smoking my own supply but last night discovered that the ship board supply is fantastic, and reasonably priced.. and while they have a well described collection of fine Cuban cigars.. I was thrilled to note that they have my favorite Arturo Fuentes Hemmingway!
Oh, and while there is not photographic evidence, last night we crossed the equator. ( Had it been daytime maybe I could have photographed the big dotted line. But as it was dark I couldn’t see it. ;-) ) So, that’s the news from the Pacific…
